Kyra Minton Sedgwick is a native of New York and is an American actress. Her name is well-known all over the globe, but particularly in America, for playing the main role in 'The Closer. Sedgwick had a passion for acting, art and Broadway since she was only twelve years old. Her introduction to Broadway by her mother she was interested in it. Sedgwick was just 16 when she got her first professional role in the television series 'AnotherWorld. Though she initially began with smaller-scale roles on television however, it was the notion of becoming an actress who intrigued her. In the beginning, her role as a support in the film starring Tom Cruise Born on the Fourth of July was a major success and made her an actor on the large screen. The success of Sedgwick in the film led to her getting roles in other movies such as 'Heart and Souls, 'Phenomenon,' etc. At just 22 years old, she got married to actor Kevin Bacon after working in a TV series called Lemon Sky. Sedgwick established herself in American television with her impressive performing. The Closer, which ran for seven seasons, was awarded numerous awards, including the Golden Globe and Emmy.
